A Different World

So We Begin

"Why is it so dark? Where am I?" I think to myself. "Something isn't right...." the last thing I remembered was coming home late last night from a friend's house and just passing out from exhaustion on my bed.

My eyes flutter open, I am no longer in my bed... I'm lying on a forest floor. It seems to be early in the morning, the sun is just coming up. I can hear the usual early morning sounds, birds chirping, animals just waking up scurrying about the forest floor and trees. A soft breeze is blowing and it seems so peaceful.

That's when I hear it. "Help!" I hear someone scream from not too far away. I can hear them now running towards me through the trees. "I know that voice" I say to myself. Next thing I know is Link comes into view running straight towards me. We make eye contact and I know immediately something is wrong. He doesn't stop running as he closes the gap between us and then I see why. There are people chasing him, but they aren't moving normally. Some of them are limping or just running awkwardly in a very inhuman way. "Allie!" Link yells. " We need to move now!" He grabs my arm and pulls me with him. I can help but keep looking at the people chasing us as we move through the trees as fast as possible.

"What is going on? Why are we being chased Link? Who are those people?" I say trying to keep an eye on them and keep my footing while we run.

"What do you mean Allie? Are you ok? You are just joking around with me right?" Link laughs looking at me with a concerned smile. Obviously he can see something is off about me.

"Of course I am... well at least I think I am. All I know is that I woke up and next thing you know you came out of nowhere being chased by weird looking people. And now we are both on the run and I'm a bit confused about what is going on right now. Care to fill me in?" I look at him with an obvious look of confusion on my face.

"Well first off those were zombies Allie... you should know what those are first hand. Second of all we are being chased because I ran into a group of them while I was out.... ummmm..... relieving myself" he says this with a chuckle. He gives me a smile but I can see he is now well aware that something is wrong with me.

"What! Zombies! You got to be kidding me. They aren't real...." I say looking at him hoping he will start laughing and tell me I'm right.

Link's facial expression turns serious. "Allie no I'm not joking. The first outbreak occured last night in Downtown DC. You should know this since you live here. Did you hit your head or something? I don't know why you are looking completely out of it."

My head is starting to spin. Why can't I remember anything he is talking about? Did I hit my head and lose my memory? I am to occupied thinking about all of this to notice that we have left the forest behind us and are now in the backyard of a house I don't seem to recognize.

"Link.... I don't know why I can't remember anything. All I remember was going to sleep after I got home from a friend's house the other night. Maybe something happened but I just don't remember anything after that" I say worry written all over my face.

Link looks at me for a couple of seconds saying nothing. He looks a bit confused himself but mostly he seems worried about me. He than looks at me with a grim smile "Well I'm not sure why you don't remember anything but let's just say that you just woke up into a world nobody ever thought could happen. And we are right smack in the middle of it."

In The Nick of Time

We eventually found a way into the abandoned house through a busted kitchen window. It seemed that whoever used to live here was long gone now. Link goes upstairs to check around for anything useful while I decide to rest on a couch in the living room.

The inside of the house almost looks untouched. Whoever lived here before must have either not been around much or maybe away on a trip when the outbreak happened. The couch I sit on is a black 3 seater and is super comfortable. Everything in the house looks pretty expensive, the owner must have been wealthy.

"Allie come here I found something" Link says from one of the rooms upstairs. I hurry up to the second floor curious. I find him in what seems to be the Master Bedroom. He is in the closet on a step stool trying to reach something from one of the high shelves.

"Need a hand?" I ask. He looks at me with a grin and continues to try reach the item. "No worries I totally got this" he says. "Whoa!" he yelps as the stool tips and he falls taking one of the shelves with him. He looks over at me smiling with a sweater draped over his head have covering his face also surrounded in clothes. I take one look at him and burst into laughter, having to steady myself with the bed frame so I don't fall over.

I finally get control of myself and ask smiling "You sure you still got it? It seems to me like all you have is a new wardrobe surrounding you." He starts to laugh while pulling himself out of the mess he made. "How do you know I didn't do that on purpose huh?" he says. I give him a hand and help untangle a couple of the sweaters and shirts from his body.

Now that I've gotten closer I can see that he was trying to grab some kind of metal case on the shelf. He looks at me than the case and smiles. Next thing you know he picks me up in one swoop and puts me on his shoulders. "Alright, there we go you should be able to grab it" he says. I am just able to grab hold of the handle and pull it into my arms.

"Guess you needed my help after all huh?" I giggle. He looks at me and laughs to himself. "Yep I guess I did."

We set the case on the bed and undo the small locks on the sides. Link lifts the top open and whistles "Thank you to whoever left this here."

There is a handgun inside with about 10 boxes of ammunition. "What kind of pistol is it? The way your mouth is gaping open it has to be a pretty good one" I laugh giving him a small shove.

Link looks at me all serious "That is a Sig Sauer P226! It is a perfect zombie slaying machine!." I decide to mess with him a bit and get super excited about it. "No way! So this is like finding a chest in Zelda!" I say with a huge smile on my face. He gives me a playful punch in the shoulder and laughs.

Suddenly there is the sound of glass shattering from downstairs. Than we hear them, moaning and trying to get in to the house. I look at Link, but he is already on it. He has the pistol loaded and ready to go "Get behind me" he says as we make our way downstairs to see exactly where they are coming from.

"The back door in the kitchen!" I yell. We make our way over and just as we arrive in the kitchen the door breaks away from its hinges. Zombies tumble in over each other, feeling no pain whatsoever. "Link do something!" I scream as the zombies start to slowly get up. "Already on it, step back!" he yells as he starts firing shots into the group of zombies coming through the door.

He drops 5 out of the 9 which makes the others trip over the dead ones. He grabs my arm and we run for the front door. "Lets get out of here" he says while firing behind at the last 4 zombies in the group. I open the door pulling him with me onto the front porch. We shut the door behind us only to walk out and see more zombies making their way into the front yard. "What do we do!" I yell seeing no clear path out of the yard.

"Idk! We need to try to find a way to the street and make a run for it" Link says. There is a large group of about 23 zombies on the street and in the yard, all making their way to us.

One makes its way up the steps as Link is reloading. "Watch out!" I yell hitting the zombie in the face with the gun case. "Thanks" Link says as he starts firing off the pistol into the closest zombies. "There are way to many of them what do we do" I say, fear creeping into my voice.

Just as when I think its the end. Three of the zombies coming up the steps drop dead. I look over at Link confused. "What just happened?" He stares back at me with the same look of confusion. "I don't know that wasn't me."

Suddenly a hummer comes speeding down the street taking out at least 10 of the zombies. Carnage is sticking halfway out of the busted out sun roof rifle in hand. Vulture jumps out of the driver's seat metal bat in hand.

"Guess we were late" Carnage says with a smile. "Better late than never" Vulture adds in as he runs towards the zombies now approaching the vehicle.

Time To Move On

The last zombie falls to the ground, head bashed in from Vulture's bat. I realize I have been holding my breath this entire time and let out a gasp. Link lightly grabs my shoulder looking me in the eyes with a smile "Hey we are ok now, they came just in time."

"Glad we made it in time, you guys ok?" Carnage says stepping onto the porch to join us. Link and I both nod and the look Carnage gives me tells me he knows I'm shaken up. "Well what did you guys find, anything good?" Vulture says as he cleans his bat joining us.

"Well I found this!" Link says with a huge grin on his face. He shows off his new toy to Carnage and Vulture who both seem surprised. "There is quite a bit of ammo in that case Allie is holding too."

Carnage whistles "Thats a nice toy you got there Link, I still think mine is better" Carnage says with a smirk. "I still can't believe I still have a bat, I want a gun like you guys" Vulture says. "I think I trust you more with a bat than a gun" Carnage laughs.

I am start to worry that we shouldn't be here for to much longer so I try to get us back on track. "I think there was quite a bit of canned food in the kitchen. We could also take some of the clothes and any other supplies we can scrounge up." We all head inside to start gathering supplies.

After awhile we have loaded a good amount of food, clothes, and anything else we deemed necessary into the back of the hummer. Carnage and I shut the trunk and before I can go to sit down he lightly grabs my shoulder. "Hey.... Link told me about what happened. You know in the woods and house and everything. We are both worried about you. Its just weird that you can't remember the last 2 days" he says with concern in his voice.

I can't help but tear up a little bit. "I don't know why I don't remember... believe me, I am just as concerned about it as you. I'm scared and just want to scream because I can't believe all of this is happening" I can no longer hold it in and I start to cry.

Carnage does his best to be comforting by taking me into a small hug "Hey, don't worry it will come to you. Everything is going to be alright. Lets get you in the car and we'll get out of here."

I shake my head and jump into the back seat with Vulture. Carnage gets into the driver's seat and Link is in the front passenger seat. I have stopped crying and look over to see Vulture staring at me with a smile. "Hey you alright? Because you know if you aren't there are many ways I can make you laugh. Perhaps I should make fun of Lunk over there?" he says with a huge grin. I start to giggle and forget all about losing my memory of the last 2 days.

"I can also cheer her up by giving you a good little beat down too if you'd like" Link says reaching from the front seat to grab at Vulture. Vulture yelps as Link gets a good hit on his leg. I burst into laughter as I watch them go at each other.

"Alright break it up or you are going to both get hurt" Carnage says. They both listen and sit back in their seats. "Ok now that we are all settled we can get serious. I was going to have hit a few more houses but after the incident we just had I think it would be best if we headed back to the school. We can drop off the supplies and get some rest, I think we could all use it."

"Sounds good to me" Vulture says. "Same here I could use some downtime after that little fiasco" Link chimes in. "I agree, I could use some rest too" I say. "Well since we are all in agreement lets hit the road" Carnage says as he starts the hummer up and starts down the road.

A New Kind of Home

I wake to find myself in my bed again. I am about to turn over and fall back asleep when I hear my door slowly push open. It is dark in my room and hallway but there is a figure standing in my door way.

"Mom is that you?" I say a little confused as to why she would be coming in my room this late at night. The figure shuffles oddly into the room, almost as if its hurt. "Mom are you ok? Why are you limping?" I say fear creeping into my voice.

I start to get out of bed slowly unsure of the situation that seems to be arising. There is obviously something wrong with my mom. She isn't answering and is acting very unusual. That's when I see it. A patch of moonlight shows me exactly what is wrong with my mother. Her hair is matted with blood, half of her face is missing, and its obvious that her ankle has been broken. Yet she is walking straight towards me mouth agape, now starting to make moaning sounds.

I'm frozen, I feel like my body can't move even if I will it too. My voice comes in a whisper "Mom.... what happened to yo-" She lunges at me trying to bite into my shoulder blade. I scream moving out of the way just in time.

I run out from my room to my parents and bang on the door. "Dad!! Wake up! Please there is something really wrong with Mom!" I yell. My Dad opens the door quickly concern obvious on his face. "Honey what’s wrong? Why are you yelling?" I am relieved to see he is ok and I run inside the room. My Dad stands in the doorway looking confused. "Allison what you were screaming something about your mo- Arrgh!" My father yells in pain, my mother, or at least what used to be my mother has latched on to his back and has bitten deep into his shoulder. She is tearing at his face with her nails and all I can do is sit there and watch in complete horror as my dad is attacked by my mother.

He is losing his footing and heading towards the window. My body feels paralyzed and my mind is screaming at me to do something. I try to think of anything I can do to help him when I see it is already too late. My father crashes through the window with my mom still clinging to his body. "Dad no!" I scream knowing my parents are falling to their death.


I wake up screaming. Vulture nearly hits his head on the roof of the car. "Woah woah woah! Hey whats wrong?" He says a little shakily after being scared half to death.

I wipe tears from my eyes realizing that I'm back in the hummer again. "I'm sorry, bad dream" I say putting on the best smile I can. I know I'm lying but I just don't want to tell anyone about what happened yet. It felt so real and I feel like its a memory. Maybe my memory is coming back.

I realize that everyone is looking at me, worried expressions on their faces. "Do you want to tell us about it?" Link asks. I know I don't want to... at least not yet until I figure out exactly what I just went through. "Maybe later, how about we talk about something else for now" I give my best smile but I catch Carnage's eyes in the rear view mirror looking at me. I feel like he knows exactly what I dreamed about.

"Let her be guys she has had a rough couple of days. Plus we are right around the corner from the school" he says. Link and Vulture seem to get excited but I can't help but feel left out. I don't even remember the school or who all is there.

We take a right down one of the many streets and almost run into about 8 zombies. I can't help but let out a small yelp at the site of them. They are instantly attracted to the sound of our car and start heading towards us. Before Carnage can slam on the gas to run them down, 2 of their heads explode, spilling brains and blood everywhere. I look at the others in confusion because they have smiles on their faces and are laughing with each other.

"Who do you think is going to win this time? I place my bet on Odst!" Vulture says to Link and Carnage. They both give each other a look and say "Herc" at the same time. 3 more zombies drop to the ground. "Excuse me" I tap Link on the shoulder "What exactly are you guys talking about?"

He smiles "Herc and Odst are sniping the zombies from the pillars over there" he points to the at the gate. Sure enough Hercules is on one pillar and Odst is on the other. They both have concentrated looks on their faces as they are focusing on the zombies.

Herc lets of another 2 shots and sure enough 2 zombies fall. Odst lets of 2 shots as well but only 1 zombie falls. They finish off the last 2 and shoulder their rifles. They drop down from the pillars to open the gate to the entrance for the school. Once closed they hop into the car with us.

"Looks like Herc beat you again Odst!" Link laughs. "Hey he only beat me by 1 zombie that time. Soon enough its going to be the other way around" Odst says, giving Herc playful jab on the shoulder. "Yeah keep telling yourself that. I think everyone here knows what the outcome is going to be everytime" he says with grin.

"Well I was rooting for you Odst. I even tried to make some fake zombie shadow clones.... didn't work though" says Vulture with a grin. We all laugh burst into laughter.

Carnage pulls the hummer up to the front entrance of the school. I can't help but let out a small giggle when I see that somebody has put up a spray painted poster on the front of the school reading [ZA] Head Quarters.

Home sweet home, I think to myself as we all are getting out of the car. It's nice to know that even if my family is gone, that I still have my ZA family there for me. I still can't let the feeling escape my mind that what I thought was a dream in the car... may have actually been a memory.

Familiar Faces

Happiness.... should I be feeling that? I am in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, my family may be all dead, and I can't even remember it... well at least I'm not sure what I remember. I ponder this as we all get out of the Hummer, we are now at the one place where I know I will feel safe.

Link and Vulture open up the back to start getting out the supplies. "I'm going to let the other leaders know we are back" Carnage says as he disappears into the front entrance to the school. "Yeah we still got another hour of watch at the gates. Time for round 3 Odis!" Herc says while clapping Odis on the shoulder.

I decide to grab a backpack filled with medical supplies and follow Vulture and Link inside. We step inside to find Star and Adder waiting for us. "Glad to see you guys back in one piece" Adder says with a smile. "I heard you guys ran into a bit of trouble while you were out. I'm happy to see nothing happened" Star says giving me a hug.

"Yeah if Carnage and Vulture hadn't showed up I'm not sure Link and I would be here" I say looking down as the thought enters my mind. Link, who is always the one to try and lighten the mood says "You know I would of just pulled out my Master Sword and ended them all right there!" We all can't help but laugh.

Slimjim appears from one of the doorways and walks over with what looks to be a handheld computer in his hand. "Well looks like everyone seems to be in a great mood. We were starting to get a little worried about you guys. Your team wasn't the only one that ran into a bit of trouble. Paradox's team ran into some zombie trouble as well. Lazy Target was injured, he had to jump from one of the roofs into a Truck bed and may have broken his ankle."

"The zombies are starting to move in larger groups. Firefox's scouting team said that they seemed to have learned that being in bigger groups when they attack work" Adder adds in.

"Buck has added more training time for the teams. He thinks it will help us be prepared for if one of the groups hits the school" Star says, her face showing concern for the ZA family.

"Well you guys drop of the supplies and get some rest, I'm sure you guys can use it." Slimjim says turning to walk down one of the hallways. Adder grabs my backpack and walks away with Link and Vulture. Star motions me to sit with her on one of the benches.

"Hey... so Carnage told me about how you have lost your memories. Is there anything you want to talk about?" she says taking my hand with a look of concern.

"Yeah... I don't really know why I don't remember the last 2 days. I know they are all concerned about me and I wish I could remember what happened. Something did come up in the car.. I'm not sure what to call it... a dream... memory..." I tell her about the dream/memory and how I'm really confused about it.

Star looks at me for a while eyes furrowed in concentration. "It seems to me like it is a memory. I mean obviously something happened to your parents... they aren't here with us and when you were found they weren't with you."

"Wait... hold on, I was found? Where? Why don't I remember this?" I am shocked to hear this and can't help but think it could help me figure out what happened to me.

"Well yeah it was actually Link and Carnage who found you. Two days ago Link got a call from you and you were acting really weird on the phone. You were trapped in a house, you were attacked by a group of zombies on the street and had locked yourself in there to get away. When Link and Carnage got there the door had been broken down and they thought the worst... but when got in the house the zombies were dead and you were covered in blood lying in the kitchen." she says.

"I don't remember any of that.... I mean something had to of happened there. Is it far? Could we maybe go back there... it may help me remember" I say.

"I'll talk to the rest of the leaders about it. I think that may be a good idea. It may bring your memory back. For now go get some rest with the others, you definitely need it" she says with a serious look that still has a softness behind it that makes me smile.

It Starts To Come Back

I wake to somebody lightly shaking my shoulder. "Hey, wake up sleepy head. You don't want to miss breakfast do you?" Star says. "What time is it? I feel like I've barely slept" I say groggily.

Star hands me a clean pair of clothes and walks me over to the girls locker room so I can clean up before we go. "Hey I'll meet you there no need to wait on me" I say to Star from the showers. I feel the need to be alone to my thoughts for a bit and I feel she understands. "Alright well don't take to long, we need to get a team ready to take you back to the house where we found you" she says.

My heart stops a bit when she mentions going back "No worries I'll be out there in ten mins." I try to sound excited so she doesn't worry. What am I going to find when I get back there? Will my memories come back? Do I even want to remember? I feel dizzy so I sit down pulling my knees into my chest and resting my head on my arms. I try to calm down letting the warm water flow over me. I start to doze off...

I'm back in my house, staring out the shattered window to the ground below where my mother's and father's broken bodies lie. I want to scream but than I notice there are people outside... but they are acting similar to how my mother was. They crowd around my father's body and to my horror start to... feed on him. "Get away from him!" I yell, throwing a piece of broken glass down at the people.

One of the people seem to have heard me and turn to look at me. He looks to be an older man by his height and build but I can't really tell with how dark it is outside. He groans and the other people seem to respond and they start toward my front door. I run to my room and thrown on clothes and shoes as fast as I can. I grab a bat from my dad's closet and run downstairs.

I get to the front door and a arm punches through one of the front windows. It is bloody and torn up but whoever's arm it is doesn't seem to care. I know the front door is not an option so I run for the back. I grab a knife from the kitchen and run out the back door.

"Somebody help me plea-" I hear a person scream. It is coming from the next door neighbors backyard. I run to the fence and climb up to peek over and see my neighbor Mrs. Hartland being tackled to the ground by a young kid about 14 and an older man. One has bitten into her forearm and the other has bitten a piece of skin from her cheek. I know there is nothing I can do at this point and I start to run trying to block out her screams from my mind.

It starts to rain but I keep running because I know if I stop one of those people will get me. I have been running for at least 20 mins now and I've lost track of where I am. I collapse onto the sidewalk in front of one of the houses and try to catch my breath. Now that I have stopped everything that has happened hits me hard and I start to cry. What is going on? Why are people acting this way? I'm pretty sure my parents are dead.... I let out a loud sob at the thought of the image of my parents on the ground.

Just when I'm thinking that maybe this is just a bad dream and I just need to wake up when I hear a commotion coming from behind one the houses. Four of the people shuffle out of the alley and come towards me. My dad and Mrs. Hartland immediately come to my mind. I don't want to be bitten by these people I need to get somewhere safe. I run to the nearest house and try the door, its luckily open. I shut and lock it behind me and back away from the door. I watch as the people outside have started to bang on the windows and door. I am so scared but know I will be safe in here if I can just keep them out- "Arrgh" I hear behind me. I turn around and all the air in my lungs escapes me. I'm staring at a person but there is no way they can be alive.... his lips are gone and his one bloodshot eye stares directly into mine.... and than I start screaming.

I scream and swing my fists only to hit a shower curtain in front of me. There is no zombie there... I must have fallen into one of my dream/memory states again. I start to cry because all I want is to have my memory back, but I don't want it to come back to me like this. I just hope that when I finally go back to the house where it all happened.... I regret getting it back.

Time To Get Going

So many thoughts rush through my head as I get dressed to leave. I am still shaken up from what happened in the showers. I have so many questions I want answered but I'm not sure if they are going to be the answers I want to hear. What are we going to find when we get there? What could have possibly happened to make me lose my memory? What will happen when I finally get it back?


Star walks in to the girls sleeping quarters and turns my way. "Hey, how are you feeling?" she asks. "I'm feeling okay.... just nervous about today" I trying to put on the best smile I can.


Star can see right through my act and knows there is something wrong. "Did you have another memory come back?" she asks with concern. "Yeah I did... but it wasn't a good one" I start to break down. Star walks over to me and sits down with me on the bed. I tell her about the memory I had in the shower as she comforts me.


She holds my head in her hands and looks me in the eye "Allie I know you are going through alot right now and just know that we will help you every step of the way. We're your family and we watch out for each other and we will help you get your memory back, no matter what gets in our way" she squeezes me tight and I squeeze right back.


"Thank you Star.... I don't know what I would of done if you guys hadn't found me." I say with a smile.


"Well enough with all this mushy stuff, lets go get something to eat" she says giving me a playful nudge with her shoulder. "Alright sounds good to me, I could use something to eat" I say with a laugh. We both head out of the sleeping quarters to the cafeteria.


As Star and I walk through the halls to the cafeteria, other members are slowly joining us. Adder comes down one of the hallways holding Tyler and I see the joy in Star's face seeing her baby. Everyone seems to be so happy here together and I can't help but smile.


Link comes jogging down the hall with a big smile on his face. "Hey! Guess what?" he asks. I can't help and grin because he just looks like a big goof with that smile on his face. "What?" I say.


"The leaders said I can go on the mission with you. Since I was one of the people that found you. I hope that is okay with you? I just really want to help you get your memory back" he says with a smile.


"Of course I'd want you to come with me. You are the one I called so I need your help in figuring out what happened that night. We also need your magical fairy to lead the way" I say giggling. Link laughs too and we all enter the cafeteria.


Everyone looks so happy sitting at all the tables eating with each other. Star takes Tyler with her to go sit at the leaders table. I go to grab some food from the cafeteria line. We have a good variety of choices so it’s easy to fill my plate. I see Link, Vulture, Odst, and Herc motioning me over to their table.


“Hey come eat with us Allie I promise these guys won’t cause too much ruckus for you” Herc said with a smile. “They would have to deal with me and I know they don’t want to do that” giving them a serious look. All I can
do is laugh because his comment sets off the three in a debate about who is the loudest.


Odst and Herc start talking about patrolling the gate and how the zombies seem to be acting strange lately. “I’m not sure how to explain it but the zombies seem to be… getting smarter” Odst says with a serious tone. “I agree, it’s almost as if they are learning and adapting… which doesn’t make any sense to me” Herc adds in. “Yeah I swear I saw one of them watching me from a window in one of the buildings near the gates. Everytime
I would get a bead on him he would move into the shadows” Odst says with nervousness in his voice.


“I think you guys should notify the leaders about that. If they really are starting to learn, than we need to try to figure out how we are going to deal with it” Link says. “I think we will wait a little longer and see if it keeps
happening because I may have just been seeing things” Odst says.
“Yeah I will look more into it and see if I can catch it happening. If I do than I will notify the leaders immediately, you can count on that” Herc says giving Odst a friendly pat on the back.


“Sooo on another note a team is going with Allie and I to go back to the house where we found her. We are going to see if she can get any more memories back” Link says with a smile. My heart stops for a second when he mentions that because it just brings me back to the memory I had in the showers.


“Yeah I’m hoping I can finally figure out what happened… I want my memory back and I think the best place to look would be there” I say with the best effort to sound happy. Link can tell and gives me a quick hug. “Hey I don’t care where we have to look, whether it’s in that house or a place crawling with zombies. I’m going to be there to help you get your memory back.”


“Hey Lunk don’t take all the credit. I’m going to be there to help too Allie” Vulture says giving me one of his goofy smiles. “I got permission to go with you guys too. Firefox’s team said there has been a lot of zombie activity in that area. I’ll make sure we get in and get out safe” Herc says giving me a reassuring smile. I smile right back and can’t help but feel that it’s all going to work out great.


Carnage walks up to the table. “Alright you guys, it’s about time we start getting ready to head out. Herc, Link, and Vulture get your gear together I want you ready in ten. Allie you come with me so I can go over the plan with you, since these goons already know what we are doing. I’ll be leading the team for this little mission.”


I get up to go with Carnage while the others go pack up and get ready. “Hey so Star told me you had another memory/dream again. Are you doing ok?” Carnage looks at me with concern. “Yeah I’m doing ok… its just that the last one I had just seemed so real and I don’t think I was ready for it” I say looking down at the floor while we walk. “I know that none of us could understand what you are going through right now, but just know that we are all here for you. Don’t ever be afraid to talk to us” He says giving me a hug. “Alright so the house where we found you is about twenty miles from here. We will be taking the hummer and a pick-up truck. You will be riding with Link and I in the hummer. Herc and Vulture will be in the truck behind us to provide any cover. According to Firefox’s team the area surrounding the house has been pretty active with zombies, so we will need to move quickly and efficiently. I don’t want any injuries or in the absolute worst case… infections. I think we should be ok as long as everyone listens and stays on track. Once we get you into the house I need you to look around and see if anything in there can spark a memory. I’m only giving you thirty minutes because we want to be back before nightfall. That pretty much sums it up so do you have any questions?” He says.


“No you answered any I had and the plan isn’t confusing” I say with a smile. “I just don;t want anything to happen to you guys because I would feel terrible. You guys are going out of your way for me and I really appreciate it.” I give him a hug. “Hey we all know you would do the same for us if we were in the same situation” he says giving me a warm smile.


We are now at the front doors of the school and we can see the two vehicles parked out front, loaded and ready to go with the team.


Carnage places his hand on my shoulder lightly and looks me in the eyes. “Alright you ready for this?” he asks.


I think about everything that has happened so far and I know that if I don’t ever get my memory back than I will be left guessing and I hate not having closure. So I say the first thing that comes to mind “I’m ready as I ever will be.”


“Good. Because I wasn’t taking no as an answer” Carnage says with a grin. We both walk out the front doors to the vehicles and get ready for whatever craziness is about to happen on this little mission.
