1. The Basics
- Objective: Zombies (blue) try to infect humans (red) by mêléeing them.
- Grenades are never allowed. If you throw a grenade (even to get rid of it) you can/will be kicked.
- Force betrayals are not allowed. Betrayal bans will be served and must be appealed. Excessive betrayals are grounds for kick/ban from server as well as warning/strike against membership. Betrayals slow down game, cause chaos and confusion, and take up the admins' time. Accidental betrayals are acceptable.
- Exessive trolling in the private server is frowned upon and is grounds for kick/ban from the server and warning/strike against membership.
- No vehicles (their only use is for transportation). Don't use them to create 'barricades' and don't bring them inside the panic. You can/will be shot if you're in a hog.
- The only exception is when a person is taking a hog out of panic. If they are killed they receive a free pass.
- You may not continuously suicide. If you do you will be kicked. If you accidentally die it's okay.
- If you commit suicide go blue. If you are betrayed go blue (sorry but pay attention). If you fall of a cliff, edge, etc., go blue.
Zombies can only melee. Humans can shoot. Humans should try to survive as long as they can. The game begins with one zombie. The zombie will usually be the winner of the last game. If you are killed by a zombie, switch your team to blue. If you are the winner, go blue and tell the admin the map, weapons and gametype that you want.
All maps are available to pick. The main zombie gametypes are listed in Section 2. You can choose from these weapon sets:
- Shotguns
- Plasmas
- Snipers
- Pistols
- Covenant
- Heavys
- Normal
- Rifles
- Short
Please don't choose only specific weapons from these sets as it can get hard to admin; all weapons that come with the set can be used except heavy weapons which are not allowed unless the zombie specifically says so.
Regarding Admins:
- Listen to them, don't argue with them, don't insult them and, most importantly, be nice to them.
- Admins can veto a panic if the panic is a bad or one that's not liked.
- Admins can veto weapons when the weapons don't make sense with map.
- Admins can veto maps when the map is undesirable.
- When a veto occurs, the zombie can choose a new panic/weapons/map. Admins can also choose for them.
- Vetos are not to be abused.
- Admins can't veto once the game has started.
- Don't go A.F.K. for an excessive amount of time as it messes up the game and you will be kicked. A.F.K. kills count.
- Once you join go red unless an admin tells you otherwise. If you join late (after half are infected) go blue. Latecomers don't win.
- Type-kills count - type at your own risk (this includes if you press 'T' by accident).
- Lag-kills count - sorry, get a better connection.
- Do not block the teleport. If you are telefragged go blue.
- If you are killed by 'the guardians' it doesn't count; stay red. If it's panic you get a free pass.
- When there's one human remaining that doesn't mean the game is over. Kill the human to end the game (that doesn't mean you can shoot).
- When you win please hurry in picking map/weapons/gametype. If you take too long an admin will choose for you.
- No recruiting in our servers.
- No glitching or hacking. You will be banned.
- The only exception is {FC}SlimJim's name hacks as they don't change the game (as of yet
).
2. Zombie Gametypes
Regular
- Last man standing wins.
- You can camp when half of the humans are eliminated. If you're camping before half you can/will be shot (stopping to type doesn't count as camping).
- Game starts as soon as map loads even if admin doesn't say "Gamestart."
- We won't do this on big maps.
Panic
- The humans are trapped in a specific area that the zombie chooses.
- The winner is determined by the following factors: must have spend 50% of game (half are blue already) in panic, and must be in panic at death. Special Note: Game is over when panic is empty, so be careful when venturing out of panic. (Basically you can only adventure during the first half of the game, and must be back in panic before teams are even, then die in panic).
- Zombies can't 'stalk' humans while they are going to panic before the game starts.
- If you leave the panic then zombies can shoot at you. Leave at your own risk (and bear in mind that you will not win).
- All humans must be in panic at game start. Players may only leave panic AFTER game start.
- If you are killed because you were shot and you were inside panic you get a free pass. (For more info about free passes see Section 4)
- If you want health you have to adventure (i.e. go outside panic) for it.
- If you are in the game at gamestart or join the game before half are blue: if you leave/never go to panic (called adventuring) and you spend more than 50% of the game outside panic then you can not win. If you choose to adventure you must be in panic for more than 50% of last half of the game in order to win.
Ascension
- The humans are trapped on the ground floor of the map chosen.
- When a human gets 5 kills (small maps) or 10 kills (large maps) they ascend to the floor immediately above their current floor. This continues until they reach the top level (where they stay until LMS is killed).
- To ascend the human must have 5/10 kills, not 5/10 score. Disregard team score/kills.
- Only the human with the required amount of kills ascends, not the whole team
- Any human caught on a floor that they do not have the required kill count for can be shot.
- If the last man standing reaches a kill count of 50, they may choose one person on blue team to revive and bring back to life as a human.
- Last man standing is the first zombie for the next game.
Army of Two (Humans)
- There are only two humans; the rest are zombies.
- When game starts the humans go to the middle of the map.
- Zombies, do not stalk them before the game starts.
- Since not everyone likes being a zombie people will probably get bored so this gametype is only recommended for a few times in a row.
Army of Two (Zombies)
- Instead of one zombie in the beginning, there's two. There is no other difference and standard zombie rules apply.
- This can only be done on regular or panic.
Alpha Zombie
- This game starts with one zombie known as the 'Alpha Zombie'. At the beginning of the game the Alpha Zombie may take the weakest weapon on the map at the time (on normal it would be the plasma pistol) and kill only one human by shooting. After killing that human the Alpha Zombie must mêlée until he kills two more humans. After those two kills he can kill one human by shooting again. Then he needs to go back and mêlée two humans to death again. This cycle repeats until end of game.
- The ability to shoot is only applicable to the Alpha Zombie. All other zombies must mêlée.
- All other basic zombie rules apply; this gametype can be used with panic.
- {FC}SlimJim is an exception; he can only kill once then it's back to perm melee xD
Fortification
- This can only be done in an outside panic area, e.g. in the middle of Blood Gulch. It can not be done in places where entrances can be blocked.
- Humans have to use the warthogs to create a barricade around the panic area.
- The 'fortification' must be within limits of the panic.
- Humans can't use vehicle guns.
- After gamestart humans can not get into vehicles to move them; that includes to fix the barricade.
- Humans aren't to be on top of the vehicles - if a human is on a vehicle they can be shot.
A more complete list of Classic gametypes can be found here.
3. Sudden Death
- When Sudden Death is called, zombies are allowed to shoot.
- If you join and Sudden Death is on, you go blue even if half aren't infected.
- Sudden Death is only used when the game is dragging on for too long - instead of boring everyone to death, it allows for a quick conclusion.
- Only listen to admins for Sudden Death.
- If it's panic don't leave the panic area - it's still last man standing in panic.
4. Free Passes
- Definition: you are allowed to go to the panic without zombies being able to kill you.
- What to do: go back to panic as soon as you spawn.
- What not to do: don't stop to gather ammo and don't shoot zombies until you reach panic. If you shoot/kill a zombie you can/will be kicked without warning. Do it repeatedly and can/will be banned. If you shoot, your free pass ends and zombies are allowed to shoot you.
- When you get a free pass:
- If you are killed because you got shot by a zombie while you were in panic.
- If you are killed by 'the guardians'.
- If you join after gamestart but before half are infected.
- If you are killed while taking a hog out of panic.
- When you don't get a free pass:
5. Behaviour
- Blocking of any kind is not allowed. This includes but is not limited to: stairs, hallways and teleports. There are anti-blocking scripts in place and the server will kill you in certain places.
- Telecamping is considered blocking. Telecamping is defined as being in the teleport itself and also as standing/crouching next to it with the intention of catching out players coming through the teleport before they have a chance to defend.
- Any kind of program that gives a player an edge over other players is not allowed. This includes but is not limited to: aimbots, clickbots, sight-jackers, and auto-shooters.
- Recruiting for other clans is not allowed.
- In-Server Language: Bullying of any kind, spamming, excessive trolling, arguing and bickering are not allowed in our servers. Cussing is allowed. However, using excessive bad words that are directed at another player/admin/clan is not allowed. Explicitly sexual language is not allowed. For example, a player may say, 'Fuck, that sucks,' but they may not say, 'Fuck you, Raz!' Derogatory, homophobic and racist language/comments are not allowed. A player may say, 'I love gay people,' but they may not say, 'You guys are fags!' Many 'bad words' are autmatically filtered from the chat. Do not try to find ways to circumvent the filters. We know what you are trying to say and it is still against the rules.
- In-Server Player Names: Names may include 'bad' words. However, names that insult ZÅ, FC, their members/admins or other players are not allowed. Names and tags that too closely resemble ZÅ's players or tags are not allowed. Names that use derogatory, homophobic or racist language are not allowed. Players may not use any names that are explicitly sexual in nature. For example, a player may use the name 'Fucker' but may not use the name 'NiggsSuck'. Admins have the final say as to what is allowed and what is not. Comply with their ruling if they ask you to change your name.
- Regarding Admins: The easiest way to stay out of trouble is to listen. All players must listen to the admins in game even if the rules they are enforcing are not listed on this page. Any issue that arises in game or any decision that needs to be made in game that is not listed here or in the Admin Guidelines is left up to the highest ranking admin in the server. This means an admin can direct game play and behaviour in the server even if it's not mentioned in our rules. Explicit and implied ZÅ rules are not debatable. Simply: Our Server, Our Rules. Should any player dispute the behaviour of an admin it must be addressed on the Complaints Section of our website. It will not be addressed in-game.
Rules should be followed both with admins present and without. Reports of misbehaviour are investigated and infractions found in server logs are punishable even if an admin is not present in the server at the time of the infraction. Not knowing ZÅ rules is not a valid defense for breaking them. |
