I have owned 2 Gateway Laptops, owned them both for over 3 years no problems, currenlty on my 3rd and got it in January and have had no problems.

dont get a gateway laptop. They may be better now, but I got mine 4 years ago and it overheats playing halo on all the lowest settings xD

I would say a Chromebook is good enough for all of those things. That's not graphic intensive. Don't plan on running anything with higher rates/graphics than Halo though.
