I've been using this crappy MS ergonomic keyboard for a long time
I want a new keyboard but i'm not sure what kind (make/model). I'm hoping you guys have some suggestions.
I'm not opposed to a Kinesis-type keyboard (just for the challenge) or a Dvorak keyboard (for the same reason).
However, what I am looking for is definitely an ergonomic keyboard suitable for gaming and normal use.
What do you guys recommand?
I don't mind if the keyboard is loud btw.

The new MS Ergonomic Keyboard. If you're already used to the design, it's an even better choice.
(The newest one's really good)
I spent ages looking for a good keyboard and most others either had crappy keys or had backlighting and other such nonsense, or were nowhere near being ergonomic.
(Actually ergonomic keyboards are rare regardless btw. If you're looking for an ergonomic keyboard, MS and a couple other brands are the only ways to go) |

Whatever you get, make sure it's a mechanical keyboard. Corsair, Coolermaster, Logitech, Razer, Steelseries along with a few others make really, really good mechanical multipurpose keyboards. Once you go mechanical, you will never go back. |

Meh, mechanical keyboards are overrated. Sure, they're more responsive, but at this point, non-mechanical keyboards use so many tricks that the difference is perceptively minimal.
I have tried a few mechanical keyboards, and I certainly can go back. Most of them are loud, and those that aren't have so little feedback, they may as well not be mechanical.
Though I haven't tried any Cherry keys. I've heard they're a lot better, but I'm not sure I believe they're all that much better, as some reviews claim. |

Try Cherry MX keys. To be honest I didn't know other people made mechanical key switches other than Cherry sooo... And there isn't only one type of mechanical key switches... Cherry has black, red, brown, blue and white key switches that are all different. Mechanical keyboards are proven to be a lot better than membrane keyboards, pretty much a fact.

I recently bought a mechanical keyboard about a month ago and I'm loving it. The keys are way more responsive (I use red cherry switches) and it is easier to type. If your into competitive fps games like CS:GO then mechanical keyboards really help with your movement. I'm sure though that their are good regular keyboards out there.
I've also read that while membrane keys will last around 5 million presses that mechanical keyboards can last up to 50 million presses which is 10 times the life of a regular keyboard. Honestly if your going to keep it for a long time you can pick up a mechanical steelseries keyboard for under $90 on amazon and it'll last you a long time down down the road.

What Master A had said. Mechanic Keyboards are the best as they would response faster on the key press than any other normal/gaming keyboards out there.

Don't look at ergonomic keyboards. Gaming keyboards are [usually] built so gamers can sit and use a keyboard comfortably for a long gaming session (in my case, several hours at a time).
First tip:
Don't buy Razer. They have poor build quality and they're overpriced shit.
Now, depending on how much you have to spend, you have a variety of keyboards to choose from.
I have the Mad Catz V7 Keyboard and I recommend it as well:

It is a membrane keyboard (non-mechanical), $80 (I got mine new for $60). It has 12 programmable keys, lights for the keys, and more. If you buy this, you will not be disappointed.
If you have $100 or more to burn on a mechanical keyboard, I recommend a Ducky Shine Zero keyboard: http://www.duckyc...broad.html

After searching and trying borrowed keyboards, I decided to pre-order a Das Keybard 4
with Cherry MX Blue switches. It ships later this months and hopefully I'll get it a few days after.
For the past couple of weeks I'be been using a friends spare Model S.

32 Gigs of RAM?! The fuck? LOL 16GB is enough.
But overall nice build. Your monitor and RAM beats my 2013's gaming rig. I'm still waiting on nVidia's GTX 800 series to release by this summer so I can finally upgrade it by putting that + my new ASUS Z87-Pro motherboard for my sexy i7 4770K CPU to fully support it.

8gb is enough, for gaming anyway. I should have my new build ready to go soon. Waiting for the 800 series also |

I didn't build my rig for gaming. The 32GB isn't dedicated to windows.
Gentoo Linux hosts my windows vm, and on that vm I happen to play video games.
