i had 5 players on alpha pro 2. each one made it to lms, got infected and left before the game ended. i know halo had a function that you can set increasing auto ban times for betrays. any way slim can mod that and maybe track hashes so that each ban given by admin for rq adds a strike, and increase time of ban for each strike? mebbe also make it so when a player comes onto server and gets bosed the time until it kicks is extended and the reason is given?
p.s. thought of sample illustration
player BOB is alpha, says screw you (why should i be zombie? i only got 56 kills with a shotty while camping as lms) and rqs. admin sees this is unfair and types rcon ***** sv_RQ 2 and if bob has already had 5 rq bans this week he is banned for a day or so. an hour later bob tries to join, wont spawn and gets a message saying rq is against our rules so on and so forth this is your 5th strike, next time will be x amount of days. and bans him for the 5th rq.

Good idea. The reason at least so that the player(s) know why they got banned and the players in the server see why also and can maybe learn from it? The new ones at least. |

The LMS in alpha 2 is not an alpha zombie so why does it matter if they quit?

I thought alpha zombies were not allowed to quit at game start regardless of LMS or not? So it should matter right? |

His first sentence says that he had players make it to LMS, get infected, and leave before game ended. So I assume that means they left during voting time. And since the LMS in alpha pro 2 isn't made into a alpha zombie it wouldnt be a rq. Now if the LMS stays and is randomly choosen to be alpha and leaves at the beginning of the next game then yes that is a rq.

A lot of people still do not know that you wont be zombie even if you are lms in pro2... So when they do quit as lms they usually are quitting because they think they will be zombie next game and obv they don't wont to be... Not to mention this will be a lot more work for Slim on top of the stuff he is doing on the alpha server and he works nearly 24/7.............

exactly that^ they think they know something, and are trying to avoid being alpha, i used to laugh at people who did this until it became an epidemic. all of the players were new to alpha 2, the didnt know they likely would have been human. i also mean for this idea to be all servers except mebbe classic.

Well that's their own loss then, nothing that they should be punished for since they never broke a rule just because they think they have doesn't make it a punishable offence.

This is a slippery slope because if we punish them for thinking that they are going to be zombie and subsequently quitting we are in effect policing their thoughts. And who is to say that they are not aware of the non-alpha lms situation and quit because they knew they weren't going to be alpha? I have done that before because I know about that script difference from the other servers.

We can't punish people for leaving as LMS on Pro 2. You don't know that they're just trying to avoid being zombie or if they just want to leave. I mean, I've done that before because I know it doesn't matter.
The sv_rq suggestion is something I've thought about from time to time. It would make dealing with consistent RQers a lot easier.

oks my fault for adding background information. i am not saying we should do anything at all about lms leaving in alpha 2, it was the repeated rqs, and rq attempts (leaving as lms thinking to avoid zombie) that sparked the idea of sv_rq for me, so i added the reason why it popped into my head. i im not even implying we should ban for attempted RQ, i just want to cut sown on actual rqs (which in turn i guess lessens likelihood of attempted rq as lms on alpha 2)

I think that the lms rq rule on pro2 shouldnt really count as a rq seeing as how you wont be zombie
