Ok, so I usually keep my personal problems to myself and really don't like to even talk about them. But now this is cutting into my daily life as well as my work concerning ZA. The problem is, my entire sleeping schedule is reversed. I am sleeping during the entire day and awake all night. Now this is a huge problem for me not only because this is not how I want to function, but also because I start college in a week. At night I just cannot bring myself to crash and then around 9 in the morning I crash until about 8pm. Now I know what some can say, just do what you would do during the day at night and vice versa. But other than the reasons I have already stated as to why I cannot do that, I turn off EVERYTHING at night in an attempt to sleep. I even deactivate my internet and turn off my phone (as well as the tv). I just can't shake off this insomnia. And as stated, it is cutting into my work as far as the clan is concerned. So I feel at least you all should know why I have lost some activity the past few weeks.

If anyone can give any bit of advise, please do. I know a few clan members who have some experience with this kind of stuff. Please help. Thanks guys.

Well, i kinda have the same problem this is what i do when i want to sleep, some food makes you sleepy ( I dont recomend this every day or frequently) eat something heavy during the night so you can go to sleep, And then your schedule will be back, other things make people sleepy a comfortable bed always helps, try to just lay down and make your self as calm and relax'd as possible. Another thing I use sometimes, is when I just leave the T.V. on and close my eyes set the timer for a long time, and dont open your eyes you will go to sleep. Or another thing if you have internet access on your phone just watch youtube videos on your phone while your laying down with all the lights off, eventually your eyes will get tired from the light and you will feel sleepy. Hopefully this helped you phoenix hope you can get back on schedule.

My first thought is a psychological anomaly. Something is preventing your brain from shutting down its conscious functions and going to sleep. My theory is stated in your original post. You're starting college next week. Unless there is something else that you haven't shared with us, I believe that may be the problem. Whether you know it or not, you're probably quite nervous about starting college. As the time draws closer, your anxiety is building, making it harder and harder for you to function on a normal sleep schedule. So here are my suggestions.

First, meditation. You don't have to sit cross-legged on a grass mat humming ohms like you see in movies. Just lie down on your bed, close your eyes, slow your breathing, and whatever it takes, clear your mind. Do not think of anything, do not see anything. Block out the outside world, leave nothing in your mind. By doing this, your put your mind at peace, lose your anxiety, and, in theory, slowly lose consciousness.

Secondly, herbal remedy. I try to avoid modern medicine where ever possible, because I believe that any ailment the earth gives us, it can also cure. No need to be lab rats. The first thing I would recommend a tea made from chamomile and mint leaves. You can find this blend at your grocery store in the coffee and tea isle, or make it yourself if you prefer. A cup of that will help to relax you. Try some about 15 minutes before your meditation

If the chamomile and mint doesn't work, there's another herb that I happen to know of, although it's a bit harder to come by. It's called Valerian, and it's been used for centuries as a cure for insomnia. You may be able to find it at a health food store, and if not, you can order the dried roots online. I'll attach a website I found which has instructions on how to make the tea with it.

If these solutions should fail, I suggest you see your doctor, or perhaps even a psychologist, if it isn't a physical problem, and they can help you sort it out.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: Forgot to attach the tea-instruction website: http://leetea.hub...n-Root-Tea

I see. I'm being totally serious when i say this.

Maybe set up a basic simple work out routine. Example being go for a run late afternoon before dark or a walk. or do couple reps of 20-30 pushup, sit ups, planking Pfft This will tire the body a little, Plus may give it a inititve to rest, thus falling asleep. After doing this for a while, I believe you'll be able to turn around your sleep schedule...least it work for me and others lol..

Next paragraph: Optional:

if that don't work...then get xbox 360 and black ops. And play a few rounds with me. After being pwn hard. You'll just feel depress and want to sleep, so you can relive the moment but have a different ending. Smile

force yourself to stay awake during the day then collapse when it hits night. IDK if thats heathly but after a few days of that i think you would get back your regular sleeping pattern. Just stay awake during the day.

Thanks for the tips guys. Tonight I am going to hit up walmart and try to find those teas Buck recommended. I usually do a mini workout close to what Raz said. And I perhaps letting the tv put me to bed might do the trick. Thanks again.

I know I have Benadril somewhere so I can try that tomorrow. Hope I won't have to though. And Saturday I have crap to do so I will be forced to stay awake. So hopefully this stuff combined can fix me.

Try turning off your computer and TV at least half an hour, if not an hour before you go to bed. Definitely don't play Halo just before you're trying to get to sleep.
Also, if you do an exercise routine in the evening, like Raz suggested, do it a couple of hours before you intend to sleep - otherwise you'll just wake yourself up doing it. Make sure you are reasonably active during the day, though.

Then, grab an easy-to-read novel (one that isn't too gripping so you're not up all night reading) and read a chapter or two to wind down.

When you're lights-off and eyes-closed and wondering how to sleep, think of really nice experiences you've had, such as a holiday, or something good that's happened that day. Forget about whatever plans you have for the coming few days because that might keep you up.

Herbal too is great, too. I sometimes chuck some fresh mint in hot water, which makes for a soothing drink.

Good luck!

Melatinine 5 mg makes you feel asleep faster ;-)

but what you tell is a huge problem, as you might know we humans have some kind of internal clock, what you have done is switch its complete sceme of normal use, being awake at night in darkness and sleeping during the day when its light

it is possible to switch back your sleeping patron but it will cost you maybe a week to do that

first stop using your computer/tv at least 1 hour and maybe more before you go to bed to sleep, your brains stay very active when using a monitor(someone else gave you this hint already(ninja) ;-))

you might skip a day sleep at first to get tired(so dont sleep during the day what you do till now at least the first day)

then go to bed the night after that skipped sleepingday, best chance is that you wont sleep maybe 2 or 3 nights but DONT sleep during the day, (those nights will be horrible because you will be awake most of those nights)

to switch your sleeping patron back to nightsleep it will cost you at least a full week but then its fixed

its the only way i think (i've been there ;-( )

good luck and let us know ;-)

eating before bed makes you gain weight...not recommended

a small workout wont work for me...but my job is exceptionally demanding (carpet and furnature is HEAVY) it is 5:09 am where i live but since i used to D.J. and do carpet i learned that total exhaustion does the trick. staying up one night makes you tired...2 in a row and your not tired for a while (over-tired) if you can make it that far while working every day, by day 3 you can pick your new bed time.. uuuhh try not to operate any heavy machinery after day 2 also ignore those things moving in the corner of your eyes...they dont exist. now this is VERY hard and VERY unhealthy but it works for me. also if you are pulling 24 hours of activity you will need to eat extra because you are burning extra fuel
*in the fine print definition of being server active* ....{FC}[ZA]Althor, will no longer be server active

Hey Phoenix!

What I do is pick up a textbook, such as Biology, read a few pages, and you'll start dosing off. Trust me, I love reading, but when it comes to textbooks, it's boring because they talk more "blah blah blah" then interesting facts lol

Also eating a good meal before sleep is good because your body uses a lot of energy to consume the food, that's why many people feel sluggish and lazy after lunch, perfect example: the hour after high school lunch =P

watch the film "trainspotting" and you will realise why you don`t want to do drugs,

and hope you get your sleeping problem fixed, so far i`d suggest cookies plan, might be the hardest but "no pain, no gain"

my brother had the same thing (he still has it but its getting better). he is just letting it running its course and he just pushes back the time he falls asleep by a couple hours every few day ( he is going to bed at 4-6 pm and waking up around 4 am).

if you are already committed to a college and since its only a week or so they might have like a student help office set up and you can talk to them.

Well I tried the tea and watched 3 episodes of Seinfeld last night ._. I still ended up crashing around 3:30 but I just woke up about half an hour ago. I feel tired bit I know I am not gonna crash. I guess from what I hear, my task now is to stay awake all of today.... I can't take a nap? Sad

And I never knew to turn off the comp/tv an hour before I wish to crash. That's about what it took last night after tv haha.

Thanks again for all the suggestions guys. Since apparently this thing isn't just going to be fixed in one night, I'll try as many of your all's advice in the next week. Thanks so much. Means a lot to me :'Wink

It seems like everyone has some good ideas to help you. I would recommend trying to postpone you morning crash as long as possible, try monster o 5 hour energy - have friends over, leave the house - whatever it takes - then come after noon or evening you should be tired enough to crash then - specially with the help of some niquil or tylenol pm. Try this for a few nights. There won't be ANY solution that will fix it in one day - but this worked for me after about 3 days when I went to Ireland.

Also don't try and completely reverse it in one night you will never get anywhere I do this literally every year go to sleep not too much earlier every night like half an hour to an hour at the most early and add another chunk about a day or two later until desired sleeping time is reached and OF COURSE exhausting yourself during the day helps

I have done this since 6th grade flawlessly every summer

Changing sleep patterns at will is a skill they teach in college. After a while in college you should learn to master it. Might I also suggest getting an extremely annoyingly loud alarm clock like this one that my brother used to use with great effectiveness http://www.the-pe...ME_UP.html. As a reference 120 dB is about the same sound level as being front row at a rock concert so if you can sleep through that then you are a master sleeper.

If you're still having trouble, I had this a few weeks ago when I went nocturnal. My solution was just to do an all-nighter... during the day. What I mean is instead of trying to get to sleep earlier, stay awake as long as you can. Then you can sleep during afternoon/evening and hopefully wake up at a reasonable time the next day.

Worked for me, eventually.

lol you sound like my uncle. he complains about having troubles sleeping at night, when in fact he sleeps all day. instead of sleeping at day time, stay up till around 11 pm and knock out.

Also like soemone said, you can try melatonin . it works wonders for people who arent tired before they sleep. And dont believe the person who said sleeping before bed makes you gain weight. Definitely not true. Eat a filling snack before bed.

doing a little mini workout will work fine . and if all else fails, ''choke the chicken ''( assuming your a male ) .
