Well the omlypics have officially started, so i thought we should have a thread for everyones comments opinions ect............
So lets start off with the opening ceremony. What did everyone think ??
IMO it the whole thing was a bit of a shambles, way to many things goin on at once, missed to much of it to really enjoy it. |

meh it was alright my mate went to see it but the tickets.... cost waaaaaaaaaay to much but at least the damn country is making some money......
btw china now have 1 gold and 1 bronze and poland have 1 silver... |

I liked the part of the Opening Ceremony with Mr Bean in the orchestra! 
I didn't stay until the end of that big parade though. I was going to stay until they announced Great Britain, but I RQ'd the room when they said 'Grenada'. They missed out GB ...

Opening Ceronomy was at 7:30 pm eastern man!!!
Also it was pretty cool tbh a little bit overdramatic but its typical for a country to show off.
Only events I care to see are basketball, weight lifting , and track / field. GO LEBRON VRING HOME TO GOOOOOLD!
Also hoping to see Phelps and Bolt win more medals.
Anyways f your an American, we should laugh @ UK when we win the overall medal count. USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA |

lol, ninja, host nation comes out last in the parade!
i stayed up and watched the whole thing (even the parade). loved the bit with rowan atkinson and the part at the end with Eclipse and the fireworks and whatnot. the bit when the olympic torch came together was fuckign awesome.
overall, it was surprisingly alright and not all that embarassing.
and i don't think the USA winning more medals is that much of an acheivement - the USA won less than twice as many gold medals as Great Britain last time round but you guys have about 5 times the population.
also the opening ceremony was 4pm EST

I was in France, so it was an hour later. Might have stayed up had I been at home.
I thought the beginning was pretty cheesy, with the whole farming thing, but it got better.
