Thats a Gear cube, looks live V2 by either MF8 or Mefferts. both pictures are of the same item. the 1st is scrambled and at a 45 degree turn.
Gear cubes are complex because the outer edges turn 90 degrees per face turn, however the gears permute only 45 degrees or less depending on the model. the more gears the easier it is however. |

well just placed my order for a few new ones:
ShengShou 8x8x8 - Based of the Verdes Mech.
YJ 9x9x9 - Based of the Verdes Mech
ZhiSheng 11x11x11 - Based of Verdes Mech
Witeden 3x3x9 V2 - has per-mutable centers in off sides, adds about 1mill more combinations than without

Or instead of making a whole thread on how to solve a rubiks cube, you can do what I do and take the stickers off  lol

if you resticker the 11x11x11 it would take over 2 hours i can solve it on the pc in under 1 hr |

well my order came in. as far as quality the 8x8x8 is amazing, much better than the vcubes since it has the equivalent of the Pin mod for the 6x6 internal mech. the 9x9x9 is a tad to crisp for my liking but im gonna see what i can do as far as lube goes. the 11x11x11 is a freaking beast. its easily the heaviest cube i own. and its turning is far better then i could have imagined given the high quantity of the pieces. i already have sanded down the 8 corner pieces on the inside to remove some of the bumps and it smoothed out the outer layer turning.
Also, the 3x3x9 turns out to be a much more fun puzzle then i thought i would be. i was able to figure out a method after about 5 mins of screwing around. the only algs that work are parity inducing algs that i learned long ago on the 5x5, and it makes for a slower solve, but unfortunately thats all that are possible due tihe bandaged layers. the quality is above and beyond that of a true 3x3x3 rubiks brand. and i check out the mech, and i was shocked to just find it modeled as a std 3x3x3 with slots cut through the 9 layers sections. its ingenious.
i highly recommend them to any cube fanatic. |
