Both should be legal but limited to medical use. Both are great medicines(weed's a painkiller) and alcohol's an awesome disinfectant. They both have negative side effects though so they should be limited to only medical use. |

Both are dangerous if you're stupid with them, but both are fine if you're sensible enough. If you want to smoke weed then fine, go ahead and smoke. If you want to drink, drink. As long as you're not affecting anyone else, I don't see the problem. There's no way making alcohol or tobacco illegal will help (see: prohibition) and cannabis is, as far as I know, not much more harmful than normal cigarettes.

I have personally wrote papers on the effects of marijuana on the human body at a high school and college level. There are many things to weigh. If I can find it the college paper I wrote I may post just for fun. Marijuana is safer than alcohol or tobacco. Fact. When I was younger I also proved the theory that you can't overdose smoking bud. Don't ask how much I smoked in a 2 hour period once that would think you could die from. Marijuana should be fully legalized in my opinion. Age restricted and other laws of course should be integrated. The most intriguing study I discovered is that scientists were 85% positive that THC the ingredient that effects the paucity of receptors in your brain that get you high can actually prevent lung cancer from developing vs what cigarettes can cause 100% of the time.

Cannabis will never be legalised until a way is found to make it more profitable than bark paper though. Only reason it's illegal is because it'd ruin the current paper industry.
And I realised that Paracetemol is more dangerous than weed in high dosages. It may not be addictive but it's a powerful suicide drug or even a poison.

First people need to know why marijuana is ilegal and why tabaco is
There are very types of smokable things that give you put you high* but dont contain THC.
They ilegalized using that excuse everyone know that a couple of years back it was legal.
But the tabaco sales drop down and they pressured the governament to put weed as ilegal.
And it has something more about the paper made from the trunk of the cannabis plant its cheaper then tabaco´s plant.
In my country is fully ilegal everything that has THC.
But every time i go out at night i always bring one gram of weed to dont drink alcohol. |

Some of you must not read the news. CNN just had an article last week after the elections ended marijuana is now legal for recreational use in the states of Colorado and Washington. Yes recreational not just medical. There are limitations of course the police cannot arrest you. The article actually said when people in a crowd began to light up showing pictures of it the cops turned their heads. Look it up CNN.com

I totally agree. I will never drink or smoke, but that's me. It kind of irks me when people act high-and-mighty that their beliefs are better than someone else's. I don't necessarily approve of alchohol/drug use, but it isn't my place to judge someone because of it, and it sure as hell isn't my place to tell them what to do.

I agree with paradox. I have never smoked or had a drop of alcohol, but it isn't my play to judge someone. As long as you are being sensible about it and not over doing it then I don't really see a problem with it. I do feel that if you go overboard and decide to do something stupid (drink and drive) you should be punished severely. You can have fun and be safe and enjoy it all, but if you step over that line and put others lives in danger, by drinking and driving for instance, you should be given a harsh punishment.
I think its in Sweden (could be wrong), but if you get a speeding ticket the fine is a percentage of your yearly income. Lets just say 10% for example. If you make a $100,000 a year, your fine is $10,000. I think that is a great idea, |

Yeah I do not smoke at all and probably never will because I like to be high on life  Alcohol is something that is more for a social thing I don't go out and get drunk and wasted because i would never want to be in that situation.

Well, everybody seems to think I'm high because I have terrible headaches all of the time so always seem distant. (Because I am distant. Believe me, my headaches are likely worse than being 'stoned'
But I don't take take drugs nor drink alcohol.
I'm not exactly against drugs or alcohol. Apart from the side effects, I mainly don't take drugs nor drink alcohol because I've just never done it before so don't see the point in starting. |

Alcohol, as we know it, was made by humans. Marijuana is natural, hence made from God.
Makes perfect sense. So why no one has died from marijuana.... huge coincidence? I think not.
The only real reason marijuana is illegal is because the way society makes the human mind work, marijuana kinda makes you think about things and lets you see the "truth".
I smoke almost on a daily basis, and every time I use marijuana, it slows down my thinking, (I over think/ think a lot), and helps me think more deeply and broader. I also use it for body pain/soreness, insomnia and to help me eat more.
Back to the thinking part. Such as one day I was thinking about if America truly runs on money. It does, I just noticed the biggest business now is drugs/medicine. Why you think so many Americans are in bad health or there is always something wrong? The point is to prescribe more drugs for more money. So now that's why everyone has a "problem", that for everything they will prescribe you something. Anyone else noticed that?
Btw, those are just one of my few second thoughts of my everyday life when I smoke. I like to smoke around smart people and converse about many world wide topics such as world wide problems, like poverty, global warming, economy, etc.
I am not addicted, but I do smoke a lot, you can say I'm a very wise marijuana smoker. It's all about using it in a good way. I do use it recreational 20% of the time though. |

ppl actually have died from weed though because ppl lace it with things and it ends up killing some ppl so it is something that can have some bad things happen.
