Ping kick

This is a request/complaint for removing the ping kick in the server.
Its a rare occurrence for me to be able to play in the stats server for more than 5 mins without getting kicked cause of this. This makes it near impossible to play in the server.

yers but playing against zombies who warp half a mile per second is the reason the ping kick was implemented. have you tried anything to keep your ping low?
make sure you close ALL other programs but halo, check to see if you have windows dling updates, if you are wireless try moving closer to the router. might need to get a higher mb/s connection

When I joined ZA i also inquired into this problem because I live in Australia, the main thing that was messing up my ping was having applications like Skype etc. on whilst playing halo. It reduced my ping spikes and I rarely get kicked now :3 |

But at what cost? As stated, I already hate the warping zombies that "spawn" right next to you.
I know this sounds harsh, but I say leave it how it is. We don't want laggy players making the game difficult. Ledapus, I'll be willing to work with you to see what the problem may be and see if we can get your ping down. I know EZRab and other international players also have a few tricks they have acquired.

I haven't encountered this. I do encounter our own members getting kicked.

well..for starters i dont have downloads and other applications open, if i do i dont even attempt to play halo.
also increasing the ping kick to 450-500 would be good.
alot of the times my ping spikes to about 467 ish however sometimes it goes right up to 600. i understand that 600 is unreasonable but extending it to 500 would be nice.
and i do not believe there is much else i can do to solve this issue. not to mention just because u have a high ping does not mean you warp. i do not warp that much. in fact there are people with ping of 100 ish that warp more than i do. so what your saying there is bull phoenix.

Ping does matter buddy. That's why you can monitor it in the server and why people have made scripts to address it. And please watch the way you address me.
Once again, I would recommend contacting EZRab. He is able to play in the servers with a stable ping and show little to no warp at all. He lives in New Zealand if that matters.

I recommend keeping the ping kick. Yes ppl can warp with 100 ping but usually anyone with 400+ ping is going to warp.
Also if anyone has over 400 ping it is usually a problem on their end that they should fix.
Led do u run on wireless internet? Do many members of your family use it? I run on wireless and when my parents get on netflix and my sister watches videos on her ipod my ping rises, i lag, and get frequent ping spikes. So see how many ppl are using your net.
And yea u should only have xfire and halo running while playing, no other apps. If your virus protection has a gaming or silent mode you should also have that on while running halo.

I have tried to help Led with this in the past. The only thing that would stop him getting high ping would be for him to move to America which I don't think he would be doing anytime soon. Also a while back I was getting constant 233 and now I'm getting 266-300... No idea what's going on there but yea the only thing that would fix that is to move to America which I wont be doing anytime soon. (Also I wouldn't move to America just so I can get low ping on a 10 year old game, lol.)

phoenix i meant no disrespect and am sorry that you took it as such. i do not understand what was disrespectful about my post.
Like rab said he has already looked at the issue and the only thing that can be done is bringing up the ping kick to something like 500.

I don't encounter warpy people that much and when I do their ping isn't usually at a steady 450. Sometimes it's higher, it's lower or it fluctuates. I don't think making it 450 would cause a lot of problems, though it would let our own members play on our servers, which I'd say is more important.
Led is another 1000 miles further from the server than Ez, by the way.

I think it's already set such that admins can't be kicked for ping. At least, I never get the message.

I was about to type that =D
Like a list of members that live far away like them, but instead of removing ping kick, set a higher limit? Or will that just complicate things?

O_O didn't know that... Also I can't even play in the ZA servers anymore without getting spammed that I have high ping... Duno what happened but in the last month I think my net kinda died... |
