I thought I'd do a little test to see how much hope is left for humanity.
You just have to answer this maths question by choosing an option in the poll.

It's better to use brackets in order to make clear which operations should be performed first.

The order of operations, Chilla:
BIDMAS
The B is for brackets - you do stuff in brackets first
I is indeces - little powers like squared or cubed
D and M are Division and Multiplication
A and S are Addition and Subtraction
What that means is you do the multipliction before you do the addition.
You're not adding up all ten of the 1s and then multiplying the whole thing by 0, you're multiplying that last 1 by 0, then adding nine 1s to it. Essentially it's
1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+(1x0)

It's just a mathematical convention, you shouldn't criticise people for not knowing it.
BODMAS is for noobs who called indices "overs" or something.
In the US, I think they use "PEMDAS" = Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction.

In standard arithmetic, the order in which you carry out operations (such as add, divide, multiply etc.) matters. You don't just carry out the operations in the order they appear on the screen.
Some operations have a priority, as it were. Such operations must be carried out prior to others. Multiplication takes precedence over addition, so the final 1 is multiplied by 0 before the additions take place.

parentheses are not necessary as long as you know to do 1x0 first then add all the 1's.
