nope, its a legitimate score. I was there when it happend. And i woulda topped his negative score if beta wouldnt have closed before i got my 2 commendations that weekend...

It was in beta, here is smiley's explanation
It is possible to get a negative score if your score gets too high because the memory address that holds scores is signed. This means it is divided into positive and negative and when you cross the maximum positive, you get a negative value.
The credits displayed in the scoreboard are separate from the actual stat tracking. While they may go wrong in certain situations like this one, the script still gives you the proper amount of credits you deserve.
