A few people have been coming to me telling me that they have been warned about getting banned for spawn killing... Well, I am not sure if everyone knows but there is a few second period from when you spawn that you can't be killed. This was put in place to STOP spawn killing witch it has done. So, why are we needing to warn about spawn killing? I would just like a answer as I don't think telling people that they are going to get banned because of spawn killing is fair when you can't... |

Well... Spawn killing is when as soon as you spawn you get killed... This is not happening therefore it's not spawn killing... Yes you could be typing or something and you spawn and when 2 secs is up you go to move and get killed... But again that is not my point... MY point is that you CANNOT spawn kill! |

Yeah, zombies have enough time to get to a safe spot, even if there's 15 humans in front of you.
So spawn killing is impossible, people just complain about it.
And when people spawn, some are doing something else and doesn't take advantage of the 2 seconds. |

Of course you can spawn kill. If I spawn out in an open area on, say, Hang Em, I'm not going to get under cover within two seconds of spawning every time, am I? The 2 second invulnerability makes it harder to spawn kill; it does not make it impossible.

If they kill you even 1 sec after you spawn it is not a spawn kill. A spawn kill is when you spawn and are instantly killed... So actually no, you cannot spawn kill. Yes people can kill you quickly as it is only 2 secs but it is still not a spawn kill. |

I think you probably can, Hat. There's always something to hide behind while you put on camo.
I think the spawn kill timer seems to work. We can't increase the time because if a zombie spawns next to you, it's already quite difficult to get out of the way until they're vulnerable.

A spawn kill by my definition is where, upon spawning, you are killed before you have a chance to do anything. So you can be spawn killed after 5 seconds if on, say, Blood Gulch, someone say you spawn and followed you as you ran for cover at the base.
P.S. I'm not saying spawn killing is an issue, just that it's possible.

Ya, I see your point, but that is still not a actual spawn kill.

I beg to differ. And with the spawn invulnerability we probably shouldn't be banning much. Still...
A. sv_changeteam
1. May be used when there is a spawn/spam killer using a one-shot kill weapon (rocket, sniper, pistol etc…) with only 1 or 2 zombies on blue team.
3. To be considered a rule-breaker, the offending player must get 5 or more zombie kills in 4 minutes or less, each kill happening at zombie spawn, with only 1 or 2 zombies on blue team.
B. sv_kill & sv_suspend
1. May be used when there is a spawn/spam killer.

If you've moved then it's a kill, not a spawn kill.

What you are talking about hat, is not a spawn kill. I have said the definition of what a spawn kill is many times now, lol, and also I think that we need to change some of those things from the admin guidelines as you cannot spawn kill... |

All I said was that I disagreed with you what the definition of a spawn kill was.

I know but my definition is what it actually is... Not tryna sound cocky or anything but srsly if you disagree with what I said a spawn kill is then you don't really know what a spawn kill is =/ If you have ever played SDTM you would have a real good idea of what a spawn kill is. |

From urban dictionary. Relevant content in green.
Spawn Killing
Usually in a FPS (First Person Shooter) game. Being killed when you spawn. Usually known as SK
Spawn Kill
In a multiplayer combat game (particularly a First Person Shooter) to kill another player as they spawn. This is dishonorable because the player is unable to react before they are dead or have taken significant damage, and depending on the game may be weaponless or inadequately armed. Often abreviated to SK.
spawnkill
when in multiplayer or online games a player kills an opponent just after the spawn of the player into the level
I have never actually had issues with this, I just hold "w" as I spawn and get to cover.
Also could someone say exactly what the spawn protect timer is, i think it's 1.5 seconds but not sure.

I'm with hat, although it may not be a technical spawn kill its as good as. Hang em' is the worste, the other day i had 26 deaths and i was lucky if i had moved all of a 100 yards in that space of time. For example if i spawn on the shotgun spawn bit, ill be dead before im even off of it. it is spawn killing with a slight delay. However, i've never threatened to ban anyone or similar. |

should the humans allow the zombies to get on the catwalks then? Once the zombies start moving its all up to them and humans should kill them. The spawn protect prevents all spawn killing. It is easy to evade with a good strafe and crouch camoing at the same time to at least get to a hiding spot. Ofc if u spawn and run directly away in a straight line without putting camo on as soon as you spawn you're going to get killed. But I'm able to hide and evade death wherever I spawn on hangem with a good strafe and camo.

spawn killing is killing after spawn before zombie can really move from the spawn area. just cause they're moving doens't mean its not a spawn kill. plus, depending on the lag, some zombies aren't spawned on their screen yet but are spawn on the humans screen.
You can be spawn killed, although the seconds do help.
Spawn killing is possible, and is against the rules.
People can be warned kicked and banned for it.

before zombie can really move from the spawn area This is what spawn protect is supposed to let zombies do, if you they are still getting spawn killed then the time should be increased. otherwise its a grey area of what constitutes spawn killing.
