alpha pro server crashing

from about now (wen this thread was posted) for about a hour the alpha pro server stuffs up like u get the lag box and it doesnt cut out for a while but u can see people talking and asking wth is going on and then it just crashes... its been doing this for the past few weeks, my thoughts firstly was someone was ddosing it but that is not the case... im not sure why it happens but like it might be something similar to wat was happening to the classic server a while back..... idk i just hope u see this slim and get it fixed

ive been busy and haven't looked into the servers. but since i have 12 hours without work (1st time this week) ill spend a little time on it. |

well there is a few little spikes now and then but it goes on for like a hour or 30 mins so like it crashes comes back on and yea does that for the above times..... but its going fine now idk why it does it at the time but the Hb server was also doing it and ik that u also run that so it might happen with all the servers? |

Server crash was caused by a Retard with an invalid name trying to join.
On a side note, since the teamspeak server was canceled, simply join the new one at:

slim ik ive been bugging you asking you about the stats but can i ask once more if they will be implemented? Just ppl still ask in server when and if stats are coming back and they were a nice feature. Id like to know myself if they are going to be implemented or if they've been dropped. I understand fully that you have limited time and the stat script had problems. Again not trying to attack you for stats or anything i just wanna know the situation.

That's a pretty good idea. And if people want old school Alpha zombies they can go to HB. What would we rename Alpha? Alpha Pro II?

Just now there was 1 person in it, so I went in and then lots of people joined. I think it just needs to be started up.
Up to you if you want to replace it though.

I don't think that we need 2 pro servers. One is hard enought to keep full at night and i can see ppl being seperated with the 2 servers like 5 in one 5 in other. Alot of ppl, especially the ones that are new to pro, will just join the first one they see. Also ppl could just rq from one to join the other then rq back.

to fix that rq problem we could make it so everyone joins blue no matter what.

I don't think the alpha server should be made another pro server ect.... i just think it needs an up-date, things like a slower zombie speed, and the ability to pick up OS, however, without the speed penalty like the pro server. |
