The Game: Lock and Load

Video games....they are something else now. Technology has pushed the limits, the border between the real world and the gaming world. The new technology lets us enter the gaming world, making everything seem real.
But you know how technology is. Someone always has to screw with it and find a way to make themselves have an advantage over everyone else. Someone is gonna find a loophole, and their gonna screw with the system as always.
"Target spotted. Moving towards the tank. You see him?"
Current Game: Battlefield Bad Company 2
"I've got him. How's the wind?"
"You're good, fire when ready." A few seconds later the M95 exploded with sound as a round was fired off.
"He's down. Calling mortars on the tank now that they are distracted." Enemies ran about trying to find who had shot their teammate. It was useless though, the desert ghille suits rendered them invisible at the top of the sand dune. A couple moments later mortars hailed down from the sky ripping the tank apart and anyone near by. Soon enemies could be seen respawning.
"Aw, shit. I gotta go."
"What? Who's gonna be my spotter then?"
"Beanie get up here!"
"Oh hell no!"
"Too late."
"Is someone hurt?" Beanie asked, starting to pull out a med pack.
"No, you're spotting for Broady."
"Oh."
"I hate you Jym." Broady said annoyed.
"Love you too." He said sarcastically as he faded out, leaving the game.
He returned to a main lobby screen where you can select what game you want to play. He tried to sign out, but couldn't.
"What the...." The screen started to get some static then a video window popped up.
"Attention all gamers." The strange voice started. It was dark figure whose face you couldn't see. "You all have been entered into a tournament of true glory. In this tournament you will fight to live. The rules are simple, fight to survive, you can't quit, and if you die here you die out in the real world. You complete the tournament you get to go home to your families."
"What is this shit?" Jym said before the chair that hooked him up into the game world seemed to hum for a moment and the screen started to flash, "Hack Detected!" He started to feel the pull of going into a game and the next game started to load, knocking him unconscious, pulling his mind into the virtual world.

They made something called Gamer, it really didn't focus on the game though. And those were criminals on death-row who were fighting to be freed.
