Can't load Halo or Xfire - SOLVED

So two days ago I installed Windows 7 Enterprise on my computer. I began to download everything back and xfire worked fine. Today when I tried to use it, it doesn't load and I tried to re-install it. Every time time it gives me a message where I downloaded the file and an error message "The parameter is incorrect".
For Halo, I tried to join Multiplayer but it says "You must have Administrator Privileges to download this patch." So I run it as administrator and it gives me the same error message like it did to xfire.
Teamspeak works fine and I am able to join the servers but not Halo or xfire.
Please help me, I get so bored :/

You must right click on the icons in Desktop and run them both as an administrator. If you want to have them set permanently, you would need to right click the icons and click on Properties, and then check "Run as administrator" and apply changes and finally hit OK. Also go to Control Panel, then User Accounts, and on User Account Control Settings, scroll it down to "Never notify", then click OK and apply the changes. Restart your computer if the changes didn't take place. Let me know if that had helped, if not, I'll look for more solutions into this situation.

Some times when you install Halo you have to do a manual update, or at least I always have to and usually forget to and that happens to me... Go to where you installed it, example: Program Files (x86) - Microsoft Games - Halo - and click on haloupdate. Run it etc and let it update. Also do what Vulture said. I have that Admin problem on my laptop with win7 where nearly everything has to be run as admin for it to work. Doesn't seem to matter on my desktop if things are run as admin or not and that also has win7 so I guess it just depends either how you installed it, the type of computer or the version of win7 you have. Also for xfire uninstall it (I know you already have) and delete any file to do with xfire and re-install it. Then when you go to start it make sure to run as admin. Might not work but the Halo thing should as that is the exact thing that happens to me. I believe it is like that because the copy you (and me) have were pre 1.09 Halo version which is what the current multiplayer runs at so that manual update is required.

I decided to do a system restore to get xfire back and ran it as administrator and as of now, its working fine. For halo, I ran it as administrator and is working now. Thanks for your help Vult and Ezrab for helping me. I'll let you know if anything else goes wrong.

Problem solved. I'll edit out its title with "SOLVED". But I'll leave the thread open just incase if someone else is experiencing the same problem and the fix I've mentioned hadn't worked for them.
