PS3 Died now what?

So my PS3 has finally given up the ghost, and has unfortunately died before I could play Grand Theft Auto 5.
The infamous Yellow Screen of Death has attacked my PS3, trapping GTA 5 inside.
Normally I could try and fix the problem myself, but with PS4 and Xbox 1 out. What should I do at this point?
Here are some options I came up with:
1. Sell all games and switch to Xbox 360
2. Buy new ps3
3. Get a PS4 and hope there's Backwards Compatibility.
4. Sell all games and get an xbox 1 |

How many games do you have for the PS3, and how much do you like said games? For me I tend to have a lot of games on the systems I own and I like most them a lot so I would never sell them. So if you are attached to your games and have a large library of good PS3 games I'd buy another one, unless you really want a PS4 of Xbox1. And if you don't care about the games you have then definitely go for a new console.
lol It's stupid that there's no backwards compatibility though. That's one reason I prefer Nintendo systems.

Any idea whether or not I should just switch consoles? I can still play my ps2 and 1 games on my ps1 or ps2.... But ps3 is going to be out of a job  |

PS4 has no backwards compatibility. They're remaking the games that were on previous consoles, but you have to rebuy them. Most peasants don't realize you can simply use your old console.
But I choose none of the options you listed.
Join the glorious PC master race. The Steam Winter Sale will begin soon! You will save so much money on the games.
Don't buy a prebuilt though (ie Alienware, HP, Dell, etc.), you should build your own if you want it to be cheaper and better for the price. It's not hard to build one either.
I can post a build for about the same price as a next-gen console (and it will outperform both of them) if you want.

Think about the games you play.
If you happen to be a fan of Japanese Playstation exclusive games, that are still planned for PS4, I would suggest getting a PS4.(You could also get a new PS3, but unless you're really desperate to play your old games, it might be better to move on)
Alternatively, if you don't care too much about Playstation exclusives, get a good gaming PC.(Best option)
PC is awesome. You get Steam sales, upgradibility, expansive customisation, a great variety of software, and more. |

Agreed. Couldn't have said it better myself.
I would rather gamble that $100 on CS:GO weapon case skins than to waste it on a Shitbox 360.
