This is just a random thought, but if the world ends on exactly December 21st, 2012, then would it end on the same time zone?
Like for people in places like Australia it would be the 22nd, thus knocking out the 21st for everyone else. If you use standard international time, the world will end on the 20th of December.
Now this got me thinking, would that mean that people in earlier time zones would die first?

So i called my grandmother who lives exactly on the time zone border. Apparently half of her house is destroyed along with her fatass 30+ pound cat named 'Fatty'...
She has exactly an hour before the Central States are destroyed.....
Even more time later... Just talking to the room mate.
So how much longer do we have to live?

Well if you think about it, the earth is at exactly a day (In Alaska on December 20, 2012 at 23:59, it would be December 21, 2012 at 23:59 2012 in Russia. At the instant it hits midnight it would technically be both December 20 and 21 in Alaska and December 21 and 22 in Russia. Therefore, it's safe to reason that while not all times are the same, it would be the same day. You can reason that if you wake up on December 21, then there is no possible way that the world will end. (or if you are awake at 3-4 in the morning EST, because it will already be past the critical point in Alaska).
Through this reasoning, it is also safe to reason that there is no possible way that the world will end on a specific date or time (Unless you go by UTC but I doubt the Mayans factored that into their calender) because at the critical point of world-ending, there will be a specific POINT where it is both night and day, being both in that time and NOT that time.
Now let's think about quantum physics. Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle states that you can know velocity or position of a particle at a single instant, but not both. The spin quantum number is either -1/2 or +1/2, but it has to be one and not the other. If you apply Heisenberg's Principle to the Spin (or the time) of the number, you can see that it can be one but not the other, but it is both at the same time and is veritably unmeasurable.
Therefore you can assume that it is ALL of December 20, December 21, and December 22 at the same time, at the exact same point, but this is only possible at the line of longitude at 180 degrees. Therefore this is the only point in time where the world can end, and IT IS ALSO the only point in time where the world CANNOT end.
If you think about it, this is like dividing by Zero, where the answer is both negative infinity and infinity. Replace Infinity for the world being destroyed, and replace negative infinity for the world not being destroyed.
You can say that SOMETHING is going to happen at this point in time, because anything divided by zero cannot be zero, but must be both Infinity AND Negative Infinity at the same time.
Therefore, for this to occur, the world must be destroyed.
Therefore, for this to occur, the world must NOT be destroyed.
The world is both destroyed and not destroyed, so therefore there must be a universe in which it is, and a universe in which it is not.
Do this for any point in time and BOOM you have infinite universes.

But seriously all of this was a load of BS except for the last part which I figgured out while BSing the rest. The only notable thing about this is that my birthday is on the 22nd of December, so I am an adult if my current mental consciousness is in one of the infinite universes where the Earth survives, as opposed to one of the infinite universes where the Earth is destroyed.

Agreed, but as I discussed in my post, there is only one possible instant.. so we'll know a bit earlier than the 22nd in most places that the world is not going to end.

TIME ZONE MAN TO THE RESCUE.
The furthest back inhabited time zone is UTC -11 (American Samoa and the like). The furthest forwards is Kiribati which is UTC +14.
That means there's 25 hours between the earliest and latest so yes, it's never the same date everywhere.
If this is the Mayan calendar let's just assume they were using a central american time zone. And then let's assume that nothing's going to happen.
