halo problems

when ever i start my halo i get that first opening credit but then it crashes. i do not have my disc or a backup of the disc any help?

1. Try starting in safe mode by holding CTRL after you double click your halo shortcut and clicking "Continue in Safe Mode".
2. Temporarily remove all your profiles/save game data to a temporary folder and try starting halo in safe mode.
3. If you've modified any of your maps get a friend to send you all vanilla maps.
4. Use the Halo CD Key Recovery Tool to recover your CD key, save it in a notepad document, download an ISO of the Halo CD (I can help you with this if you need help), and install from the ISO via your CD key.

Once you have done what Mator suggested, you can use the repair option. Works wonders.

I think Shade may know how to transfer profiles. Also, when you run ISO of the Halo CD, it will be an option to can click 'Repair'. Good luck.

Run in different compatibility mode in properties if that doesn't work try downloading torrent of halo the version you have now is probably crashed, if not try going to task manager and go to processes then if halo is on list end process then restart opening halo with administrator. Hope that helps

bump and xfire is not conflicting with it which has happened to me several times. anyone know where halo pc is still carried?

I PM'd you links to the ISO, the cd key finder, and directions on how to transfer profiles/savegame data.

This is a good point. Try closing xfire down completely and starting Halo to make sure it's not xfire-halo conflict.
