Very simple step by step Instructions.
1. Open up your program files/Microsoft games/Halo/Content
Now In your contents folder you should see files labeled such as:
786log/editbox
600log/editbox
So once that Is confirmed, you need to double check your screen resolution In Halo, and match up
your resolution with the appropriate folder.
IE: I use 800x600
So therefor I edit the 600log (still with me?)
2. So once you have matched your resolution with the right file open up your file (log) with notepad.
you should see text similar to this;

3. So now what you want to do Is edit the "textcolor="#ffffffff"
You want to change the ffffffff to any color code you choose.
Just make sure you only edit what you need to edit.
4. Now to change the Font style
Go back to Contents>notepad & then your resolution
Right after the color you should see Font-Arial
To change It
Just pick out any font that Is In your computers fonts file
Easy way to figure out what you have
Would be to open up Microsoft Word & look through the fonts
Mine Is GungSuhChe
You can also download fonts online & then place them In the fonts folder
Or you can change the font size & If Bold or Underlined etc
5. Extra's:
You can change your text placement at the top where It says
left="5" top="350" width="800" height="160"
Just experiment with them & you should be able to figure It out
Note*
Notice that there are EIGHT digits in the original value
and you're replacing them with only SIX?
After some experimentation I was able to figure out that the first two (hex) digits are "opacity" - or how "solid" the color is rendered.
THE FIRST TWO (of EIGHT) hex digits should ALWAYS BE "FF"!
Just FYI
since - if I recall - sometimes the text disappears completely unless you have the opacity enabled.

all the colour codes, remember to put ff in front of them though. otherwise it wont work.

You lost me on the 1st step. Whether you alter the 768 or 600 log (or possibly editbox) depends on your resolution... but how do I know which is which?

if ur screen resolution is 600x800 edit the 600log !! and make sure it is only the "log" file u edit. |

ok yet another thread that has been locked for no reason, can people please stop locking threads.
and sorry to bring up an old thread but i've had a few people ask me about this recently so i thought i'd help with a few of the main problems.
screen res and what file to edit: well once you have your screen resolution, say you have 1024x768 set as your screen res you want to look for the "768log" file and edit that one. so just what ever your screen res is look at the second number and that is the log file you should be editing.
trying to save it, and you get an error ?? this is most likely a permissions error, and is really simple to fix. all you want to do is right click the file you are editing and scroll down to properties. Open the security tab and hit the edit button. Under "group or user names" click "users (pc/users)" or something similar, then just make sure all the boxes are tickes as allow and SAVE. that should fix the permissions error.
