so I was just re-writing the previous statement, with a different expression for -1.

God exists. there is only one God. Jesus Christ. The Bible is the Inspired word of God. All of it is true there is not one part that is fiction. he created the earth in 6 literal days & on the 7th day he rested. thats what i believe  if you want to debate xfire me

Guys, I may sound crazy or coocoo, but I know why we here, who created us, and what's the purpose of life.
But..............................before I tell anyone (except my mom) my findings, I'ma wait until I'm successful in life.
You may ignore me or not, but here are my words to you:
Live your life happy and helping others.
I wish I can explain more, but it gets so detailed cuz I can explain everything in life.

This is my personal opinion:
I believe in God, and the existence of God, or some divine entity, esp. since science hasn't disproved it (yet?), but I do not follow a particular religious doctrine or sect.

This may some callous but, it is better to believe in God than not.
Why? If God doesn't exist, believers and nonbelievers will be on equal footing, but nonbelievers will not have anything more to gain relative to believers. However, if God does exist, believers have much more to gain than nonbelivers, especially in determining where to go in the afterlife (and it also determines how merciful or judgemental God is). Therefore, the Nash equilibrium is to become a believer, so it is more beneficial to believe in God. |

I'm a non-organizational Baptist Christian.
Basically, I believe in God, but I feel that churches are corrupt (spending tithes for decorations, exc.), so I do not attend. I have meeting with friends occasionally.

So believe in God just go get in to heaven is what you're saying?
My thoughts from above on heaven and hell:
I don't think heaven and hell are literal (I think they are metaphors for earth - if everyone behaves in a way that would get them into heaven, then Earth itself would be heaven - and if we all behaved like arseholes then Earth would be hell)

but if u believe in god then u have 2 go 2 chruch every sunday and every other dumb thing that is required.
Besides i hear all u have to do wen ur in hell is repent and its all good. also u dont stay in hell for eternity, after u done ur time u go up.

You don't have to go to church to believe in God, you have to have faith. There are lots people who believe in God and don't go to church. That's just the stereotype Christian that is propagated by the churches so they can get more money. I kid I kid! LOLOOL! Not really but yeah - I am anti-organized religion, in case you can't tell.

I don't think you should believe in something just because it's beneficial to do so. We wouldn't make any advances in science if all people did was stick to one model because it was beneficial (in the sense that it mostly explained our observations). As humans, we have a need to search for truth and gambling, which is effectively what you propose, really isn't the way to go about that.
Besides, I would like to present to you what is known as "The Athieist's Wager" - a pun, I suppose, on "Pascal's wager" which you paraphrased above. It approaches the same dilemma in a different light ... the argument is something along the lines of:
"Live a good life, and try to have a positive impact on the world, regardless of your belief (or non-belief) in God. If there is no God, you have lost nothing and you will be remembered in good light for all your good deeds. If, on the other hand, there is a benevolent God, he will judge you favourably for what you have done as opposed to your religious beliefs."
So the question here is good life or evil life, rather than believing or not believing in God. As you can see it's best to live a good life and not worry about dedicating all your time to a God who may or may not exist.

I believe in a higher power... you can call it God you can call it whatever you want. I have always had a hard time trying to just believe one thing so I believe in both. I believe in the Big Bang Theory and I believe in a higher power.
Although when I have gone through really rough times when I really needed help figuring out what to do and who to go to I prayed and would get nothing in return.. so its hard to say that I'm not really sure if i believe in a God or not.

in bricks test case (and i agree with him, life is a test) we need to just keep believing even if we dont get the answers we are looking for. And in some cases we just dont know we have the answers when we really do (god is tricky like that  )

If you guys really want it simple, all you gotta do is:
-Live your life in a good way, that you don't hurt others, and always try to find a way to lend a hand if you possibly can.
At least do that, I'm guessing if you live your life like that, God might give you a pass, even if you are atheist?
I don't know that for sure, just making a theory. I'm just being completely honest with you guys.
And the big bang may be true, maybe that point that started at the beginning was God creating the universe.
Remember, God never dies, so he most likely made everything perfectly until it got to a point that we were finally "humans",
and gave us the test for each of us starting at birth, ending by death.
You guys may agree or disagree with me, but I will respect all of your point of views. |
