Nobody deserves to die. Prison is already a ridiculous idea. Locking people up for mistakes. Everybody deserves a second chance at least. Truly evil people are very rare. And yes, rapists should be punished. They should certainly not be hung though! At the very most, they should have a 10 year prison sentence. They should at least be forced to pay a hefty fine however. And they should be forced to pass their inheritance to their victim's child regardless of any legal children of their own unless the victim lets them off. I believe that would be an entirely sufficient punishment though.

Although it's likely rare that a child rape and murder is a mistake. Trying to think like a child rapist brings up no possibilities of doing it by accident. It's something that takes thinking due to the existance of humanity, unlike adult rape which is caused by natural urges.
Jaz, you seem like a young kid. Maybe educate yourself a little bit more before you make statements mentioning that things like rape and murder are minimal crimes at most. Minimal, petty crimes would be a parking violation, littering, things like that. If you think murder is a petty mistake I pose this question to you. How do you justify allowing one individual go free essentially (only seeing a therapist, paying fine) after killing a child? What do you tell that parent? Could you go up to them and say "This person killed your child, but this is a petty mistake, so he will see a therapist and pay fine and his debt to society is paid." Do you know anyone who has been sexually abused or raped or beaten? I know a few individuals who have been sexually abused and if you can get them to open up about the issue they will tell you that it has a profound effect on their life. People deserve a second chance after they have served there time for a crime. If you want to let a sexual offender back into society, so be it, but that person should have a tattoo on there face that says, "I am a sex offender" and they should have to bear that mark for the rest of their life.
Now back to Star's questions.
There is a multitude of individuals to blame. Society in general is to blame for allowing such things to seem, normal. The parents for not teaching their own children right from wrong. There is no reason for anybody to think that such an act is in any acceptable. The boys are too blame because they did not have the moral responsibility to say that what they were doing is wrong, nor did anyone at the party. The girl also should not have allowed herself to get to that point, her friends should not have let her get that far either.
What happened to the girl in Ohio is an atrocity and it is becoming more and more prevalent in this society. It is awful what happened. I've heard of things like this happening more and more in my town. The whole sexting thing is going on as well and is not much different from this.
The man in the video was spot on. I respect everything he said and I agree with the things he says. The coaches are important figures in these children's live and he should be mentoring these children to grow to be respectable men.
There are a lot of issues coming to light in society and it is a terrible thing to see. It makes me rethink the idea of having children in this world. I don't know if I would want to a child to grow up with the way things are. You cannot go a week or two anymore and not hear about someone shooting up an elementary school, movie theater, mall. Maybe the world isn't going to end with a catastrophic event like the Mayans had said, but a slow decay because of the unwillingness of society to make a change for the better. Just a take a good luck around you and you may see what I see.

You do realize that most rapes are not motivated by sexual pleasure? Most of the time, it's for domination and out of hate.

Think like a murderer. Do you instantly see yourself as some evil genius? Then you're doing it wrong. Murderers are still just ordinary humans at base. So now think of yourself and think of a situation in which you would be pushed to murder. Look at all of your emotions, your thoughts, all of it.
But then I suppose it might be difficult for you to actually do that as your mind likely isn't as broken as mine so you probably can't just make imaginary thoughts without exaggerating them. (I lose my own personality constantly so have to rebuild it. So I've trained myself to just build personalities in my head on the fly. Never met anyone else that can do that. :/)
There is nothing to educate myself with. There are no FACTS to back up your argument on this whatsoever, nor my argument. No opinions in this thread can be backed up by facts as it is a moral debate at base. So don't tell me to educate myself.

A murderer either doesn't care about the life/lives he/she is about to take or has some personal vendetta or there is something psychological wrong. They are still humans, yes, ordinary humans, no. There is nothing ordinary about being able to take an innocent life. Murder does not happen by accident, rape does not happen by accident.
There are no situations in which I think I could commit murder. Kill my family or best friends or something and just maybe I could kill someone or threaten my own life, then maybe I could kill someone. Say nasty things to me, push me around a little, destroy my material possessions, that would not push me to kill someone.
I don't mean to offend you Jaz when I say go educate yourself. I just mean take a look at stories of those individuals who have experienced rape, who have witnessed a murder, and you may be surprised at what you read. I think you may change your mind about it being a "placebo effect". It may not be what you think or I could be wrong, and it may be exactly what you think it will be. Just take a look at some psychology books and see what they have to say about murderers and the like. An abnormal psychology book would probably be best. I do have a little knowledge on psychology. It was my minor in college.
