Apparently you have to compile it yourself. I went through with that and got a "lua51-lanes.dll".

outside of multi-threading, how far have you gotten with your sql based script conversion? |

The script pretty much works perfectly with the exception of causing lag due to a lack of multithreading. I might fiddle around with what stats are tracked, but that is just extraneous stuff.

@Chris: In case you were wondering, turns out my problems last night were because I still had some functions left over from before the port to databases that didn't know what to do.
Putting the quotes around the value name did fix the space problem, it's just that the rest of the script was broken. XD

thats why we are working to offload as much as we can & multi-thread to make it as lag free as possible |

The old script used a very cpu intensive method, hence the lagging.

The problem with sending off stuff to a remote database is that the LUA "waits" for a response before it continues. Getting it in it's own thread should fix that problem. The normal script can continue while the datbase stuff is doing it's own thing.

question is, will the multi-threading support be a single additional thread, or would it allow for the creation of new threads based on the amount of data to be proccesed, or in sql cases, responses. |

Wouldn't need to. The values don't need to be updated that fast.

ok, based on what im seeing from the database, you have a few script errors to workout.
when updating the "names" table, you first need to check if that name exists with that hash, elsewise your going to create a duplicate name/hash combo & will lead to alot of waste. |

Uhh I don't see what's wrong. There is currently only 1 name for each hash. Can't say the same for the reverse though, as players may share names.

i see over 5 identical entries for [ZÅ]Smiley, with your hash. should be only 1 entry with your hash and your name. each DIFF name gets listed in the database. otherwise every time someone joins it will add a duplicate entriy. |

Are you sure? I don't see any duplicate hashes at all, only duplicate names.
E: I just triple checked and I still don't see any duplicate hashes. Perhaps you're confusing something?

For every name, the hash is being duplicated? That still makes no sense as there are no duplicate hashes. Here's what I see:
There ARE duplicate NAMES because different players might join with the same name.
There ARE NOT duplicate HASHES because that's how we differentiate players.
I'm thinking Slim saw the duplicate NAMES and thought the HASHES were duplicated as well.
