Halo is functionally dead. Cry about it, piss and moan, but accept that because it's true. Trying to build or rebuild a clan from a functionally dead game will not work.

I know I'm sounding like a dick, but some of you aren't seeming to understand that in order to have a thriving clan, you need to have a popular game. When ZA was doing well, there were many thousands of Halo players. ZA was formed at the peak of Halo and rode down the wave as far as it could. It's time to find a new wave.

This has obvious and in some cases unfortunate implications. Some of you have shitty computers. The reason for this is irrelevant, but it does mean that you cannot play newer games and it also means that you can’t really participate in the gaming aspect of the clan other than to be on the site. Another implication is that money is required to run a server for the clan no matter the game chosen, and I don’t think anyone has a bunch of money laying around to do that with.

I edited the homepage and listed many of the games that people of this clan play regularly with links to them. Even of those, few of them are good options for clan focus games. Clans must offer something to new players that will draw them in. When we were thriving, we had the stats server as our hook, and now we have nothing but the fading friendship of people that played together 5 years ago.

The teamspeak that Dudeman has available for people from ZA to use is only done so by 5-6 current or past members. While I realize that you guys are busy with school and real life things, as often as one of these revival threads pop up lately, I see almost 0 effort or follow through to the grandiose ideas that are often proposed.

Imagine with me for a moment: You are a new player to Garry’s Mod and some weirdo named “Aero” invites you to look at his clan page. You go to this website “Zombie Assassins” (a name which really has no relevance to Garry’s Mod or any game for that matter...) and see that the forums are mostly dead with posts from 7 months ago still on the homepage while the website looks antiquated and dusty. They have no servers save for a teamspeak which seems half dead too. Their website is plastered with Halo stuff, but no one plays Halo and they don’t have a server for that either. You feel like you’re in a time warp to 2009.

Would you join a clan like that? If you answered honestly, why would anyone else want to either?

TL;DR I had to be that guy and sound like an asshole to tell you all that this clan won’t ever come back unless there is serious effort involved from more than just the leaders and drastic changes made to every aspect of the clan.

Okay so someone remove most/majority of the halo pictures and blah blah. I will work on getting this site to remove xfire from everything on here (roster/etc) updated roster page. Removing half of the navigation links abd bringing it up too time. after all that it would i think look better. more up to the time less looking like a 2012/13/14 clan. It's a possibility to completely wipe everything clean and start fresh. Before anyone mentions the past. You can't live in the past get over it and be prepared for a overhaul of this clan/community. Instead of being a clan we could just simply be a community if we are open to everyone and not picky about people who can join the site. Telling people we are just a gaming community and anybody can join/ making applications no more of a use to us. I believe simply of the closed minds of this clan/community made it die believing something isnt going to die out and made it hard for new members to join because everyone was picky in the applications over their past history. This clan/community thrived when it was less picky over members . I rather be safe and use steam simply because of its security. The only think it lacks is chat logs? go into the steam files and you'd find the chat logs (unless they changed that) chat logs don't matter. Renaming back to Foodclan makes sense hence "[ZÅ] became a sub-division of {FC}"

Half of this was a rant sorry if some of it didnt make sense.

To be frank, even as super admin there are still many limitations to what can be done to the site (can't change banners even). Honestly it would be a better idea to start a new site and leave this one as an archive site.

I will help you Wings but only if people are actually interested. Genuine interest from people is reflected through their actions not their words. I understand if people are busy irl, but it's not fair to make the people doing the work think you are interested in a revival when you're really not. From what I've seen so far, most people like the idea of reviving but don't want to put forth effort beyond liking the idea and "brainstorming". It's a fuckton of work to set up a website that people don't use. I did that not very long ago with another site, and I'm not wasting my time like that again.

Also I agree with Wangs. I'd like it to be a community. People should be allowed to come and go as they please. There will still be rules that apply to everything and if those aren't followed by people, punishments are applied. Restricting who can join isn't too smart.

Also, if it were a community, I'm not sure Food Clan would work, since it is a clan.

I'd like to keep this site archived though, for memories. This clan's my childhood.
